a bleeding drop of rain
glistening on a human window pane
the little droplet
prismatic
a burst open vein
said i reflect
karbala
a spirtual domain
to keep a covenant alive
of the holy prophet
his kith and kin was slain
it was preordained
shah ast hussain
badshah ast hussain
deen panah ast hussain
within these lines
entombed the story of pain
Sar dad, na dad dast, dar dast-e-yazeed,
haqqe bina la ilaha ast hussain
verily a thought humane
he gave his head not his hand
true Islam we thus retain
pain is hussainiyat
behind a bleeding membrane
with this sacrifice
yazidiyat he did restrain
