The Girl in the Rajashani Veil

she was sitting
in the bus
with her relatives
all male
her silhouette
serene sensuous
all female
she was
a disembodied
form of my
fairy tale
the girl
in the alluring
rajasthani veil
on the wings
of poesy
we both sailed
around me
soundless silence
thus prevailed
my fortitude
my ineptitude
at the doors of her
destiny time
derailed
she won
i failed
on a stake
of curiosity
my soul impaled

Washing Clothes

he is poor
a laborer
on daily
wages
he has no feelings
he has no emotions
he has no excitement
as he gracefully ages
washing the same clothes
day in and day out
the story book of his life
torn and tattered pages
born in captivity
rusty cages

to mr sanjay f gupta
in gratitude and humility

Woman

Woman, originally uploaded by firoze shakir photographerno1.

miles she will walk
to get water for her family
perched precariously
on her head
a gift of humility
from the soul
of the river bed
a winding path
reaching
homeward
ahead
woman
who gives birth
gives life
to humanity
a torch bearer
man has bled
married or unwed
alive but living dead

connecting man to god
woman the silken thread

to a great human being

The Tree Of Life

is dying away
this monsoon
its time
has come
too soon
it gave shade
comfort
beneath its
branches
as humanly boon
it will perish
away by noon
smothered
by a storm
the soul
in is body
in a deathly
swoon
once lyrical
now completely
out of tune

Tribute

Tribute, originally uploaded by firoze shakir photographerno1.

the skies
the rivers
the streams
part
of gods
heavenly dreams
the paradise we seek above
is beneath our feet it seems
we murder we rape nature
as the human soul screams
till hope like the rays of providence
breaks in through the beams
all part of a karmic scheme
with each new generation
an old pledge we redeem

Lost Paradise

what was a
garden of peace
love hope and harmony
no more exists
in its place
evil sits
man killing man
god gets hit
humanity
mired in more
dog shit
the hand that gives
is the hand he bit
corrupted mind
with a devilish twist
man with man
man with nature
man with god
wont co exist
predilection
destruction doom
he persists
to a peaceful path
he shows
his fist

End of the Ajmer Urus Trip 2010

It took me about 15 days to upload 4400 pictures at Flickr I shot in 4 days at Ajmer Taaragadh including pictures I shot from the bus from Ajmer via Surat .

My Ajmer journey ended at Vasai highway from where I took a ricksha to Vasai station and the local train bought me to Bandra West where I stay.

When I reached Bandra the ricksha taxi guys had gone on a strike for an increase in their fare.

I trudged home and the first thing I gave my grand daughter Marziya was the Arab dress with the head gear I had bought for her.

I shot the 5 July Mumbai Bandh and posted the pictures too.

Now I have nothing to post I am drained out.. and drenched out too.

Words The Turbulence of My Life

words gushing
effusive waters
breaching
the borders
of my mind
adding
a pictorial
moment
as text
aligned
what
i seek
in your
heart
i find
you
with your
eyes shut
me all blind
within a full stop
shooting
the angst anguish
anxiety
of mankind
