Traditional Latin Mass At St Peter Church Bandra By Fr Jaun

Today just before noon  I had gone to St Peter Church to wish Fr Jaun my mentor Happy Easter , but he was performing the Latin Mass in the Chapel of the Church on the first floor , so I shot a few frames and a video.. I also shot a family that had come to attend the Latin  Mass , Fr Jaun has been performing the Latin Mass since last 8 years ,, and it has a very small gathering of old timers of this Parish.

From wikipedia

The term Latin Mass refers to the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Mass celebrated in Latin.

Tridentine Mass in Latin[edit]
The term "Latin Mass" is frequently used to denote the Tridentine Mass, that is, the Roman-Rite liturgy of the Mass celebrated in Latin and in accordance with the successive editions of the Roman Missal published between 1570 and 1962.

In most countries, the Tridentine Mass was celebrated only in Latin. However, in Dalmatia and parts of Istria in Croatia, the liturgy was celebrated in Church Slavonic, and authorisation for use of this lan…

St. Ignatius Loyola

Youngest son of Don Beltrán Yañez de Oñez y Loyola and Marina Saenz de Lieona y Balda (the name López de Recalde, though accepted by the Bollandist Father Pien, is a copyist's blunder).

Born in 1491 at the castle of Loyola above Azpeitia in Guipuscoa; died at Rome, 31 July, 1556. The family arms are: per pale, or, seven bends gules (?vert) for Oñez; argent, pot and chain sable between two grey wolves rampant, for Loyola. The saint was baptized Iñigo, after St. Enecus (Innicus), Abbot of Oña: the name Ignatius was assumed in later years, while he was residing in Rome. For the saint's genealogy, see Pérez (op. cit. below, 131); Michel (op. cit. below, II, 383); Polanco (Chronicon, I, 51646). For the date of birth cfr. Astráin, I, 3 S.

Conversion (1491-1521)

At an early age he was made a cleric. We do not know when, or why he was released from clerical obligations. He was brought up in the household of Juan Velásquez de Cuellar, contador mayor to Ferdinand and Isabella, and in h…

Easter Vigil At St Peters Church Bandra

from wikipedia '

Easter Vigil, also called the Paschal Vigil or the Great Vigil of Easter, is a service held in traditional Christian churches as the first official celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. Historically, it is during this service that people are baptized and that adult catechumens are received into full communion with the Church. It is held in the hours of darkness between sunset on Holy Saturday and sunrise on Easter Day — most commonly in the evening of Holy Saturday or midnight — and is the first celebration of Easter, days traditionally being considered to begin at sunset.

Among liturgical western churches including the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion, and Lutheran churches, the Easter Vigil is the most important service of public worship and Masses of the liturgical year, marked by the first use since the beginning of Lent of the exclamatory "Alleluia", a distinctive feature of the Easter season.

The Bandra Beggar Kids - My Beggar Blogs

This was shot  a long time back , at Mount Mary steps during the Mount Mary Fair Bandra , the back steps and these kids were the same kids that normally begged at the Turner Road Traffic Signal and were forced to beg here at the iconic Bandra Fair ,, I was told each kid could make about Rs 3000 in a single day from morning to night as the crowds keep on coming and the flow does not stop and the Christian devotees give generously unlike the Muslims who give a few coins to their beggars , the Christians give notes , hard currency..and once the kids came to Mount Mary the Turner Road Signal would wear a deserted look..

Now the kids beggars and even the hijras have been removed from the signal because of the affluent jewelry shops all around the signal..and the owners well connected politically so the cops have stopped begging on this signal pushing the kids towards Linking Road Pamposh signals.

All these kids their dirty filthy families once many years back stayed on a Mound off Rang Sh…
