An Open Letter from Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg

It has been a great year for making the world more open and connected. Thanks to your help, more than 350 million people around the world are using Facebook to share their lives online.

To make this possible, we have focused on giving you the tools you need to share and control your information. Starting with the very first version of Facebook five years ago, we've built tools that help you control what you share with which individuals and groups of people. Our work to improve privacy continues today.

Facebook's current privacy model revolves around "networks" — communities for your school, your company or your region. This worked well when Facebook was mostly used by students, since it made sense that a student might want to share content with their fellow students.

Over time people also asked us to add networks for companies and regions as well. Today we even have networks for some entire countries, like India and China.

However, as Facebook has grown, some of these regional networks now have millions of members and we've concluded that this is no longer the best way for you to control your privacy. Almost 50 percent of all Facebook users are members of regional networks, so this is an important issue for us. If we can build a better system, then more than 100 million people will have even more control of their information.

The plan we've come up with is to remove regional networks completely and create a simpler model for privacy control where you can set content to be available to only your friends, friends of your friends, or everyone.

We're adding something that many of you have asked for — the ability to control who sees each individual piece of content you create or upload. In addition, we'll also be fulfilling a request made by many of you to make the privacy settings page simpler by combining some settings. If you want to read more about this, we began discussing this plan back in July.

Since this update will remove regional networks and create some new settings, in the next couple of weeks we'll ask you to review and update your privacy settings. You'll see a message that will explain the changes and take you to a page where you can update your settings. When you're finished, we'll show you a confirmation page so you can make sure you chose the right settings for you. As always, once you're done you'll still be able to change your settings whenever you want.

We've worked hard to build controls that we think will be better for you, but we also understand that everyone's needs are different. We'll suggest settings for you based on your current level of privacy, but the best way for you to find the right settings is to read through all your options and customize them for yourself. I encourage you to do this and consider who you're sharing with online.

Thanks for being a part of making Facebook what it is today, and for helping to make the world more open and connected.

Bakra Idd Namaz on the Streets - Noorani Masjid Bandra

Through this sheepish winding lane littered with butcher shops on one side you come to Noorani Masjid and on Bakra Idd day the namazis over spill on to the road, shortage of space, and the proceedings go on peacefully, I had to pass this to reach Bandra Station to shoot the Bakra Idd Namaz there..this area is also known as JJ Colony Extension..

All this is part of my pending uploads all shot on Bakra Idd day while returning home barefeet via Indira Nagar slums I shot some more slaughter or Bakra qurbani pictures..I love shooting blood and gore , dont ask me why..

The Maqdoom Shah Baba Police Sandal I shall post after this lot gets over , now the Urus season is in, all roads lead to the Mahim Dargah.

One surprise at the Police Sandal was Sharukh Rafaee the young son of Chalak Ali the finest exponent of body piercing.. Sharukh did not tell me much about his dad , but I gave him some money..

I have decided this time to shoot more footage of the Siddhi performers from Junagadh.. Siddhis are are an African race that once ruled Murud Janjira and are found mostly in Gujrat..The ones who perform at the Dargah are acrobatic dancers ..and their steps movements are very tribal..hypnotic too

Earlier I spent much time at the Dhuni now not possible due to urgent work commitments..

Mr Vazifdar High Priest Tata Agiary Bandra

I spotted my Parsi friend Mr Vazifdar, head priest of Tata Agiary Hill Road on Bakra Idd Day, he is suffering immensely , his liver works at about 30%capacity..

He is mostly in and out of hospitals but is ever glad to see me, I had gone to the Agiary on Pateti Day but Mr Vazifdar was undergoing one of the many operations that his life is all about.

I met him on Sunday and shot some pictures..he is a beautiful person , undergoing pain , overcome his suffering valiantly, so as a blogger I might be shooting the Bakra Idd Namaz but life unfolds stories within stories..divinity drops them in this bloggers beggar bowl..

And one day I hope to renounce all this ...

My Camera Leaves Nothing To Your Imagination

great expectations
dickensian dilemma
tears on the soul
of a nation

Ripples In The Whirlpool of Pain

sorrow
that drops like acid rain
children of a superior god
caught in rusty chains
death comes death goes
leaving behinds its foot print
on human feces as blood stains

Beneath The Veil Lies Her Pain

I promised to show you pain.. beyond the darkness of the human soul..

The Saga of a Beggar Womans Idd

wrinkled hands
withering reed
wounded sorrow
begs and pleads
a wrinkled soul
several mouths to feed
tum sab ko mubarak
ho bakra idd
the crying cradle and the creed
burning tents parched throats
the poisonous passion of yazid
he gave his head but not his hand
allah ho akbar god was pleased
from the chains of tyranny
Islam of his grand father
he finally freed
humility bravery
defiance indeed
hussain is humanity
he decreed
leading the path
Zuljana the Imams steed

The Spirit of Idd A Photo Journalist Will Never Know

I dont blame poor photo journalists who are made to slave to shoot manipulative pictures of little kids,,Idd Kids hugging pictures to appease the editors facing total amnesia or photographic block..I always held pictures in newspapers as my manual , my guide, some of the stuff is spell binding..and I am a born amateur at heart..we all are are except a few photo journalists..

A new kid on the block is the need of the hour, shooting Idd from a different perspective..please give us something new for a change.. dont dump shit on as newspapers subscribers ..even if it costs Rs 2..do some soul searching.. together we bring the change words of wisdom of Baba Siddique..after winning by a slender margin the soul of the residents of his constituency..

When will our hot shot photo journos bring in change.. its time they answered the question...,and photo bloggers are not hired as photo journos so I cant say more than this..All I know as a poet you poetize the pictures you shoot adding rhythm , substance light and shade and showing God his godliness in a better light than shown by the milieu..God needs photographers to sell Peace , God needs photographers for his greater good..

And because photographers were lacking in this he created from the rib of a photographer a genus called the photo blogger ...

Brandon Stone Biz Stone Cheru Jackson did the rest..

And as I have a backlog of Idd stuff , I just want to tell you this afternoon I shot the Sandal of Maqdoom Shah Baba , the first sandal presented on his tomb by the Mumbai Police under the auspices of Mahim Police Station and the Dargah Committee..the Police segment represented by Senior Inspector Mr Liaqat Shaikh Senior .1 December was the first day of the Maqdoom Shah Urus, I skipped an invitation by my Hijra Guru for a eunuch Aids Welfare function..too much work ..

I also did not go to pay my respects to the Bawas of Chancawalli..

Senior Inspector Mr Pawar of Mahim Police Station led from the front..and this procession tells you beneath the khaki uniform .. God too has his abode..

I did the kaif to the Nasik drum band, barefeet, bonded with the Mahim Rafaees , shot some sword fencing stuff..and a woman possessed lying on the road..I am indebted to Sher Khan free lance photographer who shot me with my camera..

I start a new story board at Flickr of the Siddhi performers from Junagadh, a powerful brave race with its African ancestry made to beg the streets through performance drum and acrobatic dance.... I had shot a Siddhi hijra Zeenath at Ajmer and ever forgot her sensuality or her lust for life..

The Siddhis once were the rulers of Murud Janjira a warrior race that even time could not subdue..yes Murud Janjjra is where you will find me on Gudi Padwa shooting the bullock cart race ..

Strangely media loves writing the obituary of a blogger in its many Sunday issues , but the Blog lives on...even after this blogger will pass away leaving his unpublished worth on the cosmic consciousness of Google Search...
