I Get Humiliated Insulted By Hooligan of Rupam Color Lab Bandra Hill road

Ever since I was an analogue photographer I spent a fortune at this studio getting my big salon prints done here I am their oldest loyal customer ..
But today I had a very bad experience I gave 2 prints 0f 4by 6 single prints and 4 very small prints to them I was charged Rs 120 I was in a rush I paid the entire amount no bill was given to me I had paid separately for my passport size photos Rs 60 ,

I went to collect my prints in the evening the lady on the counter handed my prints I asked for the break up she said Rs20 a print when it is Rs 4 I got angry and told her I always paid Rs 4 and the guy called Chirag who works there started to threaten me shout and humiliate me I am a senior citizen station I thought of going to the police station but I called up one of their bosses Kalpesh Shah who is at Borivili I told him the entire episode she returned Rs 20 back but I was shocked how many people she must be cheating at the expense of their gullibility ,,I dont think her bosses would want this kind of money because I know them they are highly upright people I have known them from the time they started this studio.

This is the first time I felt insulted I told Kalpesh I was going to post this episode on Twitter .

Why should I give Rs 16 to them when I can give the same amount to a poor beggar on the street ..why should I be cheated and I am a photographer also a life member All India Photographic Trade Association..

I mean how can bosses keep staff like this why dont thy check the CCTV and see his threats to me ,, or will they push it under the carpet of their studio.

This is what I was told by the caretaker of the Parsi Temple , and it was a very sad sight .And some time Muslim women  uneducated illiterate are married of early without their parents checking on the grooms antecedents and the next thing you know she has been married off to a lout..or an older man  as second wife ..

There are are so many cases and society just watches from afar ,,spreading Islam ins more important than removing the impediments that are bane of society..


And so I shoot the plight of Muslim beggars to bring their existence on the streets to the fore..

The Muslim Beggar Lady of Bandra Hill Road

Among the Muslim beggars I shot , this was one lady who did not take kindly to me , she did not want me to photograph her , but I did and I paid her too .

Than  I simply stopped shooting her she sits now even today at Bandra Hill Road opposite the Bandra Police Station.

And mostly people give them coins to get rid of them sometimes they are lucky a kindly person will give them money for clothes and food.. there are many kind people and more as there are misers on this street ..the second most famous commercial street after Bandra Linking Road.

I have never talked to her and try to decipher her pain through the silence of my shot.. I shoot you fill the blanks and I hate adding text  as I type with one finger , it hurts after some time ..and I have 295000 blogs touched by this one magic finger that bemoans belonging to me lol

The Muslim Beggar Child

I have been shooting this child from the time she was a toddler and visited my workplace with her mother for alms ,,

Both mother and daughter came every Thursday and begged  from the shops on Bandra Hill Road .

I have not seen them now since 3 years ..

This lady had 3 daughters .

And it is fortunate I gave her my grandkids  old clothes and toys .. and money from time to time .

But she needed education , mother needs a job but than who hires beggars in Mumbai..

I always carried my camera to work at my old workplace on Bandra Hill Road and I never had to stalk people I shoot they just appeared from nowhere .. and I captured them along with their souls .

I took as many shots the advantage of having a Flickr pro.. unlimited uploads ..

And I shot the streets and the Muslim beggars , it was this segment that I needed to showcase , the minority that even God does not appease let aside political parties ..

What is the future of these beggars who come from far flung suburbs to Bandra west ,,here alms food is guaranteed .

There are lot of generous folks out there ..
who help these beggars in cash and kind .

Will her daughter end up being a beggar too , this is the sad part of shooting beggars ..what is her future , early marriage and than what ?..

Who marries a beggar , and what can she give as dowry ..because a beggar who marries her will also ask for perks ..

Honestly I dont want to get into all these question answer sessions ,  that is why most of my colored original images are free of text , just a  picture and tags and title and the set that it has been placed in..

And I am a blogger more than a photographer or a poet , I shoot to blog . I am a photo blogger we are lower down the order among the so called fine art photographer the holier than thou media photographers god handpicked them and sent them on earth..and we bloggers can shoot without cameras , the media photographer needs it without it he would be emasculated forever ..ha ha

And photography blogging must have a purpose otherwise it is doodling for fucksake ..I taught my grandkids that when they shoot a picture they create hope , they create a sense of purpose that may have been a void before they shot it..

I demystified the camera for them... I made them shoot pictures with a blindfold I made them add light to darkness ..
