The cycle
The wheel
Of a woman’s pain
A womb
A heart
And a brain
Within
The thought in a grain
Mother of fertility
Primal force
A yogic kundalini
Flowing tears
Wordlessly explain
Once a crowning glory
Now a menstrual sorrow
Flowing down the drain
Gives birth to man
Empowers him
And ends up his slave
In chains
Martyred Motherhood
Forgotten labor pains
Lip service
On Mothers Day
A token reward
Is all that remains
An urn just
living ashes of her sacrifice
Is all that it contains
a winding sheet of her
womanly woes
splattered with
domestic violence
marital rape
dried bedraggled
bloodstains
