He and Jaffar Bhai are the two senior beggars at the bazar , and though he calls me out in the mornings , I have never really talked to him, I dont know his name , I give him money I always do if I shoot their pictures or otherwise ..I do not have the common curiosity nor the inclination to find out more about the people I shoot .. and my pictures are only for the Internet .. no coffee table book, no exhibition.
And I would kill myself before making them stand next to a poster of an American Hollywood actor ,, it would be demeaning their Indianess , their fundamental right to be what they are .. just human beings caught in a mouse trap.
I have over 282000 images at my Flickr photostream, , and some pictures I have completely removed from public view as Flickr cannot address the issue of people stealing our pictures at Flickr itself, pleading your cause with Yahoo Copyright makes you the accused and not the victim.. I hope Ms Marissa Mayer brings in more refreshing safeguards of this one problem that plagues people like us and I dont lick Getty ass.. nor do I prostitute my images to buyers in the Temple of Photography,..but if I did get some money for a picture I saw that I gave it to the deserving people in their own hands .. what they do with it is not my concern..
Flickr is the only best photo management site I got over my bias for New Flickr .. I could not fight them I joined them .. Fuck Ipernity or other places I am happy with a few friends here ..I do not intend being a Flickr refugee somewhere else.
I will miss being a Pro.. but actually inherently I am learning photography and a hobbyist poet and amateur photographer ..and teaching this craft to my grand children.. in all humility they certainly know how to hold a DSLR and pictures they shoot are part of theor coming of age .. so the gift of a camera to a child is the most lasting endearing gift of extended life.
When you read my picture , than it becomes a blog and I must reiterate I am a blogger first and a photographer at the bottom of the ladder ...words maketh a picture too.
