Jean Marc Gargantiel is Remembered Fondly At Worli Gaon on Holi Day

The kolis love guests , they are hospitable indigenous people belonging to the fishing community of Mumbai..

I had bought Jean Marc here in 2010 I was invited by Manjula Khankian , who is a fisherwoman that sells fish at Bandra Bazar fish market , Manjula is from Chimbai married to a famous Koli family of Worli gaon.

Manjulas family misses Jean Marc and he shot their famous feast , their frivolity their cultural ethos ..Manjula is very fond of my 4 year old photographer grand daughter Marziya Shakir who now shoots the streets on the EOS Canon 7D ..

Because Marziya has been bought up by Manjula since she was a toddler Marziya understands Koli language is unafraid of big fish crabs or lobsters ,, at the Bandra Baazar Fish Market the other other Koli women call my grand daughter Marziya Koli..

And strange but true like her Mother from Lucknow Marziya does not eat fish at all.
