Dark circles under her eyes
Truth hidden behind
the beatings
the battering
carefully camouflaged
by cosmetic layers
of marital lies
the ongoing pain
the haunted future
children
those solitary
soul piercing cries
night after night
booze filled breath
violated sighs
mornings he repents
pleads begs forgiveness
come the night
welts bruises
more beatings
choked fear
at the door
the children’s sobs
turned into taps
bursting out cries
beyond darkness
another layer of
darkness lies
the color of blood stained
crimson in the skies
each sob
something within dies
woman a reservoir
born in pain ..
filled with pain
enwombed pain
loves her pain
pain her pain
mortality
in disguise
for each moment
suffered she pays
a heavy price
succumbs each time
she spots a new sunrise
this anguish she defies
dark circles
within
her karmic kaleidoscope
dharmic destruction
a medicine wheel
that goes anti clock wise
juxtaposed ..injustice
in a godliness
that even god denies
