Me And The Poem of My Life

clinging to hope
once upon a time
on a toadstool
watching the world
sitting besides
my wife
marriage
walking
barefeet
on the raw
edges
of a knife

Ek Shahenshah Ne Banake Yeh Haseen Tajmahal Ham Gareebon Ki Mohabbat Ka Udaya Hai Mazak..

The Taj Mahal is a subject of many Urdu poems and film songs, and much to my surprise, they're not all complimentary.

This is the standard line, from a very beautiful song written by Shakeel Badayuni:

"Ek Shahanshaah Ne Banavaa Ke Hasi.N Taajamahal
Saarii Duniyaa Ko Muhabbat Kii Nishaanii Dii Hai"

(In having the beautiful Taj Mahal built, an emperor has given the whole world a token of love"

Here is Sahir Ludhianvi's take:

Ek shahanshah ne bana ke haseen Taj Mahal, hum garibon ki mohabbat ka hai udaya mazak’

"In building the beautiful Taj Mahal, an emperor has made a joke of the love of us poor ones..."

The Memories of Distant Dreams

I was here with my wife and my mother in law for a few hours, as we were visiting the Shrine of Shaheede Salis Agra and were to leave on the same day to be in time for Lucknow Athvi the next day.I shot these pictures bare feet , burning floor reminded of my Moharam walks on embers of coal..
One needs time great natural right and a gifted temperament to shoot the Taj Mahal,,,it is more than a symbol of love it is a symbol.. of Indian hospitality harmony and Peace.

The Taj Mahal Temple of Love

I shot the Taj Mahal , barefeet , the burnig marble it was like walking on fire during Moharam, wife and mother in law Wassim Qazilbash, were with me.We had come to spend a day at the Holy Shia Shrine of Shaheed e Saalis also in Agra.I shot the Taj from the banks, but did not get the desired effect.
The Taj has to be seen once in a lifetime.
It is a wordless feeling poetry.
Connecting man with supreme love of God.

reminiscences
carved
over a razors edge
my soul
hanging
from her
windows ledge
lost illusions
time wont
dredge
a maze
within
a maze
in her gardens
hedge

This is the only surviving picture of marriage against the backdrop of a temple of love , we had come here to give our lives a chance..the barefeet blogger and his wife..the marble burnt my bare feet , but I kept on walking shooting pictures though I am not much into travel photography..and this was a long time back, the actual reason for coming to Agra was to pay a visit to the tomb of the Holy Shia Saint Saed e Saalis..

After I left my wife back at the lodge I sneaked out to the banks to shoot more of the Taj Mahal though I was here only for a day...during Moharam Athvi.. that I later shot at Lucknow..

Oh ! God ! Death is better than Despair

a family wife mother and child
nowhere to go ..
no work no dreams
just despair
living life as an eyesore
death to has shut her door
man and a deaf mute god at the core
get it over with once and for
all i swore
no adonai i can take it no more
after my death my wife
will walk the streets become a whore
my son begging at someone elses door
my mother motherless furthermore
my life a restless sea and no seashore
i am drenched with despair
in this downpour

This man had lost everything in the floods I was told at his hometown, he was a daily labourer, all was lost with just an ounce of faith left he had come to the Holy Shrines
to ask for some more...god who was locked within a trembling door.

Shiasm a World Without Borders

slashing their backs
a message they send
1400 protest
against terrorism
even after they die
wont end
a newer lot
will carry forward
the fight against yazidiyat
a thought to attend
enemies of shiasm
not mans best friend
hussain is humanity
hussainiyat
with our blood we defend
yes we are shias
we dont need to pretend
shiasm a world
without borders
our soul transcends
fuzzy headed puritans
wont comprehend
broken fences
takes two hands to mend
