Lucknow Felicitates BW Jatkar on World Photography Day

The gentleman in the gray safari suit is an eminent creative photographer Mr Anil Risal Singh..of Lucknow Camera Club , he was a close friend of Prof BW Jatkar ..and had requested me for the photo hanging on the wall,,Mr BW Jatkar is a human though encompassing photography you share with all..


Mr Anil Risal Singh sent me this picture of the felicitation along with the note.

Dear Firoz Bhai,

We had a very good function yesterday on World Photography Day, it was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Mr. Sukhdev Rajbhar. It was announced from the dais that this exhibition is dedicated to Prof. Jatkar, sending you one photo chief guest looking Jatkar Saheb's panel, other picture I will send when I come back from Kolkata on 26th.

Blind Ismail Chacha - Dil Hai Hindustani

Blind Ismail Chacha is 83 years old a passionate nationalist , he was in the Indian Army..941 Corps..he came to my house on 14 August to invite me for the flag hoisting on 15 August our Independence day.

Ismail Chacha has a very colorful history I shall write when I have all the details..
Ismail Chachas father Abdulla Hamdare a Konkani Muslim, was a cook or Khansama in the household of the Nizams of Hyderabad , from there he shifted to Jinnah House working as a cook with the family of Mr Jinnah..
Ismail Chacjha gets nostalgic about those days but he was very small, when the partition took place Mr Jinnah who was fond of Abdulla Hamdares culinary talents asked him to migrate with him and his family to Pakistan, but Abdulla Hamdare would not leave the country of his birth..Mr Jinnah Saab had him employed at Chagla House..

The Hamdares are known as Karais in Bandra and a entire locality existed here, Ismnail Chaha was employed with Port Trust under Mr Sood husband of Kamini Kaushal.

Ismail Chacha worked at the docks and knew Haji Mastan a celebrity figure , who allegedly was the kingpin of the underworld those days..

The Army absorbed Ismail Chacha and he got his salary both from the Port Trust and the Army..Chacha was talking to fast and I dont take notes so these are excerpts of conversation with me..

Ismail Chacha lost both his eyes is retired now on pension, and it is his family heritage of a flag that was used for the hoisting.. at Indra Nagar Bandra.

Rahebar Khan was the chief guest I could not post these pictures earlier..

I will write more about Ismail Chacha and the Jinnah household at a later date..I do not want to upset the BJP like Mr Jaswant Singh....

Taking a Shave on Independence Day

I normally shave at home , but on 15 August Independence Day I was invited by blind Ismail Chacha for the hoisting of our national flag , the chief guest was Rahebar Khan our municipal corporator..

As I came down in a rush , I sat and took a shave from Salim Biloo Barber of Bandra Bazar ..

I had shot the gay parade over 1000 pictures , I have posted some of them at Flickr , but I have yet to post over 750 more to my Gay Prade set 2009...

I would copy the Flickr link to Facebook, as most of the Facebook members committed and part of the gay community including my Hijra Guru Laxmi Narayan Tripathi dont access Flickr..I like Facebook, but because of overreaching the limit of links I was told in no easy terms by the Facebook team my account would be disabled for spamming..me a positive spam.

I will in a few minutes reach 89000 photo blogs at Flickr .and at least Flickr does not consider me a positive spam yet.

So as a poet this kick on my black ass hit me hard and I have emotionalized it in pedestrian verse..dedicating it to Mr Mark Zuckerburg..

I am not into porn, I am not into groups either at Flickr or Facebook..
But three places which are home away from home
is Flickr , Facebook and Twitter.

I had earlier thought of deleting my Facebook account ..but than it would be my loss , as my friends are all Facebook hard core fans ..

Rayo my childhood friend of 50 years known as Ray Framroze says he only browses Facebook and no other site..

So my poem with malice to none

Their threat to disable

shows their bias
among other things
a bias
that racially stinks

with broken wings

some swine flu

from the crowds
a libidinous hijra
gives me a wink
calling me to Gaylords
for a drink

exotic tantric sex

The ancient syllable "OM" is the shortest of the Mantras and in Indian tradition it is a word suggestive of God.

The scriptures tell us that "OM" is the planets primordial vibration from which the entire universe has arisen. All other sounds are contained within it.

It is believed that "OM" is the mother of all languages. Repetition of "OM" enables us to maintain mental and emotional calmness, overcome obstacles and enable understanding.

An analysis of "OM" as it is written in Sanskrit shows that it is made up of A, U, M and a symbol representing resonance. So "OM" has four aspects.

The first is A, a sound that comes from the belly, is formed in the open throat, and is voiced with the mouth open. As with many alphabets, A is the first letter of the Sanskrit alphabet.

The second aspect is the U, a sound that is formed in the middle of the mouth. The mouth is not as wide as it is for sounding the A.

With the third sound, M the mouth closes. The sound rises to the nasal passages, from where the resonance, the forth aspect of "OM" issues forth.

It is said that A represents the waking state. U the dream state and M the state of deep dreamless sleep. the fourth state, sounds in the resonance following M.

Saying "OM" is actually a form of meditation
