as human hearts
from other indian regions
they betray
with false hopes
false promises
every day
jai maharashtra
jai mumbaikar
slogans
that break heads
break bones
a tax the migrant
must repay
heads made of molten brass
held on feet of clay
political deities
greater than
greater India
they say
god show them light
of peace and humanity
a sincere solemn prayer
if only they would care
angels watch with envy
as fools who do and dare
