Mumbai is the heartbeat of Humanity , here a human cause attrracts everyone , be it a peace march after the 26 /11 episode or the Queer Azadi March Gay Pride 2011.

College students like her from every college of Mumbai were there adding support by their presence , and you dont need to be gay , hijra or transgender or bi or lesbian.. sexual orientation has nothing too do with it , and the mature crowds at the Gay Pride evoked such sublime feelings and this is Amchi Mumbai..in all its pristine glory under a colorful rainbow of Hope and Humanity.


Parents relatives little children accompanied by their guardians walked with pride and here I must mention the exemplary Mumbai Police giving respect to a just cause, this was the most peaceful walk, and even the crowds clapped their hands and joined in the march.

This is what I shot a rich tapestry of communal harmony, I met old friends and missed some old friends like James Feriera ,Jangoo Ediwn, Kumar Iyer..

I have never mentioned , but I also shot this parade for a very dear friend now dead and departed Allen Gill fashion stylist of Bollywood , he was a cabaret artiste in the early 60s, and was a fabulous friend I knew , this was shot for him , so the Gay Pride for me has many myriad unforgettable moments , memories , my own meanderings sitting at the Archives of Elphinstone College with gay friends their fears and their desperation to come out.

This was shot for them..so perhaps the gay activist who shot listed me for her personal ire will never know all this.. I shot this for the gays that cruised Oval and got beaten by ruffians , Naval cops and everyone that wanted to use their vulnerability as a punching bag.

I shot this for the few gays I sat with at Gokiul behind Taj and discussed art and literature.

I shot this Gay March barefeet to show that my feet are human they burn as my heart and soul burn to see hate taking over love beyond race caste color or gender.
