On 8th Moharam the Martyrdom of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar, erstwhile brother of Imam Hussain, the Shia commemorate his death with matam, majlis and a nazar.In Bandra a group of Shias led by Mukhtar Mirza Saab and his son Shakir Mirza have a Majlis on the Carte Road promenade, and Busheri Matam , the Alam and the processionists men women and children move with the Alam from Carter road via Pali to the Bandra Khoja Mosque..
