Thank you Eagle Hawk

Thank you
Eagle Hawk
Sometimes
Far more eloquently
In silence we talk
It’s when we open
Our duck faced mouth
That as humans we shock
Like ships on repair
On old memories we dock
Crumbling as sand
Once that was rock
Now turned to chalk
As desensitized poets
As demoralized poets
As disillusioned poets
As dehumanized poets
Our inherent hatred
On the Muse of our Poetry
Unlock
We conjurors of words
Wordsmiths of unworthy stock
Not only poetry
Our vindictive venomous
Viper like poison
Beneath empty
Hollow sounding words
Our alter ego we stalk
Not just Poetry
But the Soul of Poetry
We mock
Like Shepherds
Weeping poems
Over dying flocks
A haunted poet hunter’s house
The ghost of Alfred Hitchcock
Legless heartless hopeless soulless
On borrowed crutches we walk
