These are pictures of Chath Puja celebrated by the Biharis of Mumbai that is performed at Juhu Beach,. This year due to the sad demise of Shree Balasaheb Thackeray the fesat was subdued and low key , I shot this but kept the pictures on hold because I was leaving for Hyderabad to shoot Moharam there .

I am a photo journalist blogger showcasing my beloved city , my culture and my surroundings..I shot this barefeet despite serious injury to my leg, and carried this injury to Hyderabad too..

This was the first time I arrived late to Juhu Beach and did not shoot the pictures of the ladies appeasing the sun god entering the sea in waist deep waters.

I chose to shoot the people on the beach instead and the ladies drying their wet sarees..and I have shot this feast for many years.

Otherwise I hardly come to Juhu, only during Gauri Visarjan and Durga Visarjan.

And of course during the cheek piercing by the Hindu Tamils on Marriamman feast day.

I have promised my Tamil friends I will pierce my cheeks with a 21 feet rod next year with them as a token of my respect for their culture and their devotion to humanity.
