This is my new set at Flickr.com and this is the events within the Rehmatabad Shia cemetery, the street procession the anjumans finally reach the Shia cemetery for the last final part of Chehlum or Arbaeen.
What happens in this jam packed small Shia cemetery is totally mind boggling , the blood shet the passion pathos of the Mumbai Shias pain.. there is no place all fitted in a sardine box..there is a majlis a short one by Maulana Irshad Abbas Naqvi of Lucknow and before he cuts his head too the chao and the cutting in the public begins , it is just impossible to shoot the entire cemetery I shot most of my pictures barefeet outside the dais area ..
The cutting continues non stop for two to three hours Zuljana and the works hardcore Zanjir Matam, sword matam and non stop kama matam..this is a one of its kind event of the Shias of Mumbai ..
