Most of my pictures are odds ends bits of fragmented broken glass pieces of life..I dont plan pictures I shoot from moving rickshas cabs I dont have wheels I walk barefeet shoot pictures as pathos poetry of life.

Because of a diabetic leg injury I have forced my feet in slippers my soul of course is wild restless like a speeding wave it lashes my consciousness that is awake when it is sleep..

I dont know how to dance but I do the kaif and the kaif or the Sufi trance without drugs afim , charas or ganja takes me beyond the spectrum of my imagination I do a whirring kaif with my camera and than lose consciousness banging my head on concrete but my camera more shrewder than me saves itself from further damage.

When I saw him moving on the road for me it was a dance serpentine and I shot it as such..and I was reminded of the old Hindi song..old songs were a staple diet, that I was bought up on as child living in the palatial house of Nawab Kashmiri.a yesteryear doyen .contemporary of Dilip Saab Jayant Johnny Walker Mukri all football Rovers Cup fans ....

At Khatau Bhuvam now Jony Castle..we stayed as tenants in their servants quarters with Nawab Saabs family , Nawab saab had passed away..a long time back and I am talking of 1954- 1955

On the other side of the same building was Keith Kanga my childhood friend who became the King of Rock in Mumbai founder of Atomic Forest.

So seeing this cripple Muslim beggar and shooting him was throwing a ripple in a pond coming up with myriad emotions..being a poet this comes easily as a photographer I think I would have been clinical with a single desire shoot and fuck off..

I am happy that street photography squeezed poetry into my soul...
