"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

violence cannot drive out the violence same as the darkness cannot drive out the darkness...ashfaque waleed

hate begets hate
more hate transmit
so be it
in our hearts our soul
a candle of brotherhood
through scriptures
good thoughts
good deeds
he lit
to Allah's will
he made us submit
but his message
distorted bit by bit
Muslims kill Muslims
sectarian split
suicide bombers
jehaddis
that throats slit
like eunuchs
we watch
as one the other
outwits
this ongoing skit
throwing peace
in a snakes pit

to nauman to wit

as the rogue mullah
gives
the jehaddis
a clean chit
man kills man
god gets hit
misplaced martyrdom
wont say quit

The Hijda Misgivings

The Hijda Misgivings, originally uploaded by firoze shakir photographerno1.

a streak of sadness
corrugated crumpled wings
in silence the hijda sings
her fate no happiness brings
life that has robbed
her of all good things
her past
those unforgettable
hijda flings
oh karma
where is thy sting..
married
to lord iravan
searching
for the wedding ring
the hijra
queen and king

Muslims Are Indians Too

Muslims Are Indians Too, originally uploaded by firoze shakir photographerno1.

when disaster strikes
it sees no difference
whether you are
a Christian or Hindu
Muslims are Indians too
under the umbrella
of a tricolor
lovers of Allah Jesus
Buddha and Vishnu
mutual coexistence
on a cultural menu
fighting terrorists
fighting a corrupt system
beating the shit
out of swine flu
on the soul of our
deprivation
the politician
builds another
statue

Dont Poetize My Pain .. Please

Dont Poetize My Pain .. Please, originally uploaded by firoze shakir photographerno1.

you have
breached
the doors
of my
womanly
shame
you mock
you tease
dont poetize
my pain please
from this
life of misery
only god
can give me
release
a breath
that will cease
a residue
on the palm
of nature
that death
will freeze
breaking
open
the doors
of my soul
all
boundaries
no more dependent
on your coins
from your
miserly pockets
you empty
