The Beggars of Ajmer

a handcart
of despair
tearing
open
the
curtains
of my cosmic
consciousness
into my eyes
he stared
threadbare
he asked
me you shoot
my picture
you will sell
it somewhere
but how could
i tell him that
he was wrong
in his assumption
of my humanity
it was so frickin
unfair ..his
pain as the
poetry of his
legless life
with all of you
i share ,,
like him
i too am
held ensnared
in the swirling
waters of my
remorse
gasping for
air..i gave
him money
that i could
spare ..
i searched
for him this
year i could
not find him
anywhere
disappeared
lost a deleted
face of beggary
another missing
warrior of life
unfinished
prayer ...

a beggar
is a beggar
always a
beggar
i swear

tu jahan jahan chalega, mera saaya saath hoga

Kabhee Muj Ko Yaad Kar Ke Jo Bahenge Tere Aansoo
To Wahee Pe Rok Lenge Unhe Aa Ke Mere Aansoo
Too Jidhar Kaa Rukh Karegaa, Meraa Saayaa Saath Hogaa

Reptilian Remorse

at Ajmer
crawling
on all four
trying
serpentine
like
to reach
his destiny's
doors ,,,
his voice
shouting
for alms
gone
hoarse
a beggars
testimony
i endorse
crude
coarse 24/7
human
workhorse
pushing
himself
forward
with godly
force ..
doomed
of course

I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.

god
was kind
gave him
a mouth
to eat
he begs
on the
street
offers
his blessings
even in defeat
he does not
rob he does
not cheat
he is an
unfortunate
heart beat
a stump
of a tree
growing
on concrete
dust and heat
beggars
beggars
beggars
is all
i meet
i shoot
beggars
off beat
children
of india
looked
down on
by the
rich
power
brokers
of the elite
humble
beggars
no conceit
lepers
disabled
blind
limbless
legless
handless
perhaps
working
under a
beggar mafia
without receipt
a cosmic tragedy
of their fate ..
part animal
part human
incomplete

Nerjis And Zinnia Fight For My Empty Wallet

a fight
not much
of a fight
a squabble
you may
call it
or sibling
rivalry
to draw
my attention
but i dont
fall for it
crocodile tears
on one
end regret
on the other
end .
.a problem
even god
could not
solve it
i tore my
wallet
two pieces
the only
way
i could
resolve it
why does
a beggar
poet
need
a wallet
now
no more
a wallet
if you
may call it
